COPD

COPD, which includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema, is a lung disease often caused by smoking. More than 11 million people have COPD. It is the third leading cause of death in the United States. Our expert guest, Dr. James Krueger, a pulmonologist in private practice from Long Beach, California helps us understand COPD also known as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Actress Loni Anderson, made famous from her role in the hit sitcom, WKRP in Cincinnati, and nominated for two Emmy awards and three Golden Globe awards, has been a spokesperson for COPD since 1999. She is passionate in creating awareness, especially to the young people on the dangers of smoking, since her experience with her parents suffering from COPD.
